This city also has the most bridges in the world, around 2,500. This is more than Amsterdam, London and Venice put together.
Okay the origin of the hamburger name is actually unclear. White Castle traces the origins to this city, but an alleged American inventor of the hamburger named it after the Hamburg steak which German immigrants in the U.S popularized at the time (when? in the 1890s probably! :)
